Every ten years, following the U.S. Census, California government agencies are required to adjust and redraw voting so that each district is substantially equal in population. This process, called “redistricting,” is important in ensuring that each of the five (5) JCSD voting districts represents about the same number of constituents. Redistricting is done using U.S. Census data, which due to the COVID-19 pandemic was delayed.
